Teaching

Some words about teaching

After completing the Masters of Music in Pedagogy with distinction, I have started to work as a piano teacher on a freelance base in Switzerland and in London. I am convinced of a multisided approach of teaching looking at different styles of Music, Improvisation, learning music from scores as well as by ear and composition. I use different methods, including exercises without piano, to stimulate the student's knowledge and skills in piano technique, rhythm, harmony, sight-reading, ear training and performance. I aim to reach a high level of piano playing for my students, always trying to find joy in expression and movement. I believe that art gives us the platform and freedom to communicate with ourselves and can stimulate our fantasy.

“Endeavour to play easy pieces well and beautifully; that is better than to play difficult pieces indifferently well. When you play, never mind who listens to you. Play always as if in the presence of a master."
Robert Schumann

“Practicing is not forced labor, it is a refined art that partakes of intuition, of inspiration, patience, elegance, clarity, balance and, above all, the search for ever greater joy in movement and expression. "
Yehudi Menuhin
